About the Academy
About the Luxembourg Academy of Sciences and Arts
An independent, non-profit scholarly association based in Luxembourg, creating connections across science, technology, the arts, humanities and education.
Our Identity
Established in 2024 and registered in Luxembourg as an association sans but lucratif (asbl), the Luxembourg Academy of Sciences and Arts (LASA) provides an independent platform for scholarship, creativity and responsible international exchange.
LASA brings together scholars, researchers, artists, educators and institutions across disciplinary, institutional and geographic boundaries. It encourages the exchange of knowledge while respecting academic integrity, cultural diversity and the independence of participating individuals and organisations.
Our Mission
LASA seeks to advance interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthen the communication of knowledge and encourage constructive cooperation between academic, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural communities.
The Academy is particularly interested in questions that cannot be understood through a single discipline, including health and ageing, science and society, emerging technologies, digital education, cultural heritage, creativity and the development of younger generations.
LASA gives priority to activities with a clear academic or cultural purpose, appropriately qualified contributors, accurate public communication and realistic outcomes.

Based in Luxembourg, LASA operates in a multilingual and internationally connected European environment. This setting supports dialogue across regions while allowing the Academy to maintain its independent institutional and intellectual identity.
LASA welcomes responsible engagement with scholars, artists, educators and organisations across Europe and the wider world. International cooperation is understood as a process of mutual contribution, respect for local knowledge and clearly defined responsibilities.
The Academy seeks to develop substantive relationships rather than accumulate ceremonial partnerships or unsupported institutional claims.

Institutional Status
Institutional status: LASA is a private, independent non-profit scholarly association registered in Luxembourg. It is not a national academy, government body, public authority or institution of the European Union.
